So due to having my G-mail on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc), I am making then transition from pop mail to imap. The question I have is that there seem to be some default G-Mail folders in my mail account I can't hide.

Here is what my mail screen looks like:

Inbox
Drafts
Sent Mail
Trash
[G-Mail]
-----All-Mail
-----Spam
-----Starred
Folder 1
Folder 2

Is there a way to hide the Gmail folder and it's subfolders (spam, etc) while retaining Folder 1 and 2 (folders I created in G-Mail)? If you have any other imap tips, I am open to those as well. Thanks a ton all!!

I don't think so. Try adding "[Gmail]" (everything between the quotes) as the IMAP path prefix. But that might do just the opposite of what you want. Try it and see.
