I have a canon HF 200 and 10.6.2 with imovie08. I turn on my camcorder and plug in the USB cable to my mac book pro however I never see the camera not even mount as a disc. It is like the camera isnt even seen at all by the computer let alone in imovie. I also installed the canon image transfer software i see that it isnt for 10.6.2 only 10.4 and 10.5....Anyhow any help here? I greatly appreciate it.

    2 suggestions

    1) Reboot your mac. You may have already done this but it gets overlooked sometimes.

    2) There should be a button in iMovie that looks like a camcorder (or try command I once the camera is attached). It is the import from camera button. I've had some instances with a Sony AVCHD camera where I actually have to open that window. (I'm using 09 so I'm not sure where it is in 08)

did you shoot the video on SDHC card?

If so, do you have an external card reader you can try?
