Everytime i start ichat it asks for my keychain password for AIM, which i type in, and it says its wrong 3 times in a row, then it asks me for the password for my specific AIm name, which again i type in, but this time it accepts it. anyway to stop the first password thign from coming up everytime?

When you started iChat for the first time, did you type in the correct password? Try to click iChat then Preferences and then under Account Information, you can re-type the password in. Think that should work, hopefully...:apple:

I am trying to do this too and it doesn't work. I somehow have two accounts in there and when I change the password under preferences it doesn't take. I still cannot use iChat:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your AIM password is stored in your keychain, but this keychain is locked from system use. The first three times it prompts you, it is asking for your keychain password, and then when it fails getting that, it will prompt you for your AIM password.

Spotlight the application "Keychain Access" (usually located in the Applications/Utilities folder) and run it.

If you don't know the password for your keychain, you may need to reset it by going to Preferences -> General -> Reset My Keychain

This will show you all of the saved passwords on your computer, and allow you to change and delete them. If you go into preferences, then the "First Aid" tab, make sure that both "set login keychain as default" and "keep login keychain unlocked" are checked - this will prevent your computer for prompting you for a keychain password.
