Help with iChat

Today I encountered a problem I've never had before with iChat. I added a buddy to my buddy list via the "+" sign in the lower left hand side of the AIM window and added them and they appeared on-line, flashed, went off-line and the disappeared altogether from my buddy list.

I tried re-adding them but to no avail...any ideas?

The contact also shows up in Adium though...so it has to be an iChat issue - right?

Quit iChat and reopen it. That always fixes it for me.

I don't remember when I started having that problem, but it might have been after I installed the Chax add-on. While I could test that theory, I've never actually put the effort into doing so.
