help with imac g3

I am trying to install OS X Tiger on a 600MHz G3 iMac (Grey). I have the cd version and when I get to the end of the install, it says optimizing, and it never finishes.

I changed the HD to a 200GB Seagate 7200RPM unit and formatted it to 128GB (max supported) and did the install.

Help please..thx!

I am now using a Hitachi 80GB drive and the problem still happens...

Did you install the latest firmware?

argh...no I forgot to, is it possible to do this from a cd or something?

nope, download. and you need to boot from an OS9 disk to run it.. 🙁
