I have imported a number of still into Imovie and would like to make them into a slide presentation that I can eventually burn to a DVD and make it watchable on a regular DVD player. I can't seem to get it to make this happen any suggestions????? Or maybe there is a better way to take stills and make them into a slide program that can be burnt to a DVD and played on one's TV. I really need some help here!!

I think the easiest way to make a slide show on a DVD is through iDVD. Put the photos you want to use in iPhoto, make an album with them. Then in iDVD, go to media and then select the album you made and make a slide show on the DVD. You can add music and did fades if you want. You can't customize each transition, but it does a good job.

Use iPhoto!!

Select the photos you want to make a slideshow in iPhoto. Then choose transition effects, etc. Then click on the share and send it to iDVD. This works great!!

Help with iMovie

Drag your photos to the iMovie timeline.
Pick the transition that you would like or you can use the Ken Burns effect to add some animation to your slide show.
You can add music from your iTunes library if you want.
Export/Share as what ever format you want or choose send to iDVD.
If you decide to save/share as a iMovie in what ever format is available to you then you can also import it into iDVD instead of sending it to iDVD from iMovie.
I always save the movie then import it as a seperate file to my DVD projects and have not ever sent iMovie to iDVD.

Not a complicated process. I have used video and photos in the same movie.
If you use iMovie you can have more control than if you use iPhoto or iDVD. You will also have a stand alone iMovie for future use if you want to use it again.
