Help With iMovie4.0.1

My Camera will not connect to iMovie(its not supported, Sony CCD-TRV608) but i was able to get my movie file(saved as MPEG quicktime movie) into my external HD.....i'm trying to edit it in iMovie but it wont allow me to import it but it opens in QT.

1. Is there a way i can open/edit this in iMovie?
2. The only way to import movies to iMovie is through your cam-corder?

iMovie needs the file in DV format.

Not sure if you could use QT Pro to convert the file to DV and then import that into iMovie

Ever heard of MPEG Streamclip? will this work if u know?

MPEG Streamclip will work just fine. I used it for years, before iMovie started supporting MPEG 4.
