Help with iPhone Pickup Logistics

So I was browsing the Apple site this morning and noticed that you can now order an iPhone X for pickup in store. One near me had a Sprint version in stock, which even though I’m T-Mobile, works anyways. My father is on Sprint and I used his information to reserve one in store, however, on the order conformation page it says he has to be th one to pick it up. I paid using my card and want to essentially buy the phone outright just for use on my T-Mobile account. Is there any chance when I get there that I can cancel that sale, keep that phone, and just place a new order with my own account information? Not sure how this really would work.
