I have had my iPhone 4 since it came out and always backed up to my home computer. Now that I am at school, I use a MBP which the iPhone has never been in contact with before.

I just backed up my iPhone the the Mac iTunes but I am still not able to drag and drop music onto the iPhone from inside iTunes like I could on the old PC.

I most likely no longer have access to that old PC and am afraid I will click something that will erase my settings and apps on the phone...which is why I did the backup.

But I am still looking for direction so that I don't lose anything. There is no music on the iPhone, just some pics and apps, but I would like to drag and drop my music onto the phone so I can make some new ringtones...

Thanks!

1) Right-click your iPhone in iTunes, then click "Transfer Purchases" in the drop-down menu. iTunes will then proceed to transfer your apps onto the iPhone.

2) Load iPhoto. Select your iPhone in the left pane, then click the "Import All" button on the bottom-right corner. This will transfer all your pictures to your computer.

Side note: You do know you can sync over WiFi and backup to iCloud if your phone runes iOS5/5.0.1/5.1, right?
