Hi all

I have an iPod which is updated with iTunes on my Mac at home.

Can anyone advise if I bring my iPod from my home to my office and plug it in to my Mac here (which only has a handful of the songs on), will the iPod 'update' the Mac - i.e. copy all the songs from the iPod to the Mac or will the reverse happen and the Mac will write to the iPod with it's playlists, erasing all my songs on the iPod?

Silly question i know but I just want to check before i do it!!

Thanks guys

:)

Well what you can do if im understanding you correctly

iPod will usually be updated by the mac its plugged into, you can set the Office Mac not to update the iPod that way you can listen to the songs on the iPod or the ones already on the office machine

When you plug the iPod in you will be asked if you want to erase the playlists, select no and press the iPod button at the bottom of the iTunes Window, then select the option ""manually manage songs and playlists"

Once you have done that you can play the songs off the iPod in iTunes

Hope that helps :)

thanks Darwin.

yes that's kind of what i meant!

i guess I really want to get the playlists and songs off the iPod and onto my office Mac so I will do that with the 'manage manually' option

thanks!
