Am new to the forum so apologies if these have been asked in other posts!!
I have received a new 3GS and for the moment am wanting to use for everything apart from Phone usage as i am shortly moving to Australia! As i have full wireless access around me at home and work figure i will simply use the device on wireless hence no requirement for a plan!
In order to activate i simply inserted another SIM i had for another device. This allowed me to activate the unit so i can now use as a SIMless device (Which is what i want!).
Have a screwed up the original SIM and am i now going to be charged for an additional service on this SIM?
Should i Jailbreak and Unlock the device so i can continue using as a device and will any further Apple updates mean i will have to insert a SIM again? What are the best recommendations for doing this?
