Help with iTunes 9

    The new update will not take to my husband macbook. When I open iTunes, and check for updates it tells me there is a new update, but when I go to software update it tells me that everything up to date. I also have tried to download it from the Apple website, it runs normal, but nothing happens, iTunes 8 is still on his Macbook. He has the Late 2008 13 UBM 2.4Ghz. He had no problem updating his iphone to 3.1. Thanks in advance.

    Are you downloading the DMG and then installing?

    If iTunes is located somewhere other than the /Applications folder, or has been renamed, the update may not work correctly upon it. However, downloading the .dmg with the complete installer package should bypass that issue...

    Don't try launching iTunes from the Dock. Navigate to /Applications then double-click on iTunes.
