iPod touch Help with iTunes and iPod

Hey guys. iTunes on my macbook is stuck on "verifying iPod restore with apple". iTunes won't close nor will my macbook shut down. this all happened when i was restoring my iPod touch 4th gen aswell as updating software from 5.1.1 to the latest. i don't know what to do please help ! iPod is jailbroken with cydia
