hey guys, my friend has a 3GS on 4.02 with the old bootrom. I cannot use pwnage tool and custom ipsw because I am on a windows machine.

How can I JB him in windows?

Maybe you should read the dev teams official line on thier blog about Windows:

The Windows version needs further testing, so for now this is available only for Mac OS X x86. The Windows version will come as soon as the bugs are ironed out.

I know pwnagetool does not work for windows, I asked for an ALTERNATIVE. I am trying snowbreeze now

For 3GS, to use custom firmware (from pwnagetool or snowbreeze), the phone needs to be already pwned JB. Last pwned JB was Redsnow 3.1.2 or Spirit 3.1.3 + Spirit2pwn (Cydia).

Just like Myzhi said, pwngtool and snowbreeze requires that the phone already be jailbroken to work

You cant JB a 3GS on 4.0.2 period.
Mind as well update to 4.1 and wait for the new JB.
