    a recurring issue on my macbook (10.4.10) when it reboots is this following bit taken from Console:

    Jul 5 13:57:41 giant-MB launchd: tuncfgd: 4 more failures without living at least 60 seconds will cause job removal
    Jul 5 13:57:41 giant-MB launchd: tuncfgd: will restart in 10 seconds
    Jul 5 13:57:51 giant-MB launchd: tuncfgd: exited with exit code: 1
    Jul 5 13:57:51 giant-MB launchd: tuncfgd: respawning too quickly! throttling
    Jul 5 13:57:51 giant-MB launchd: tuncfgd: 3 more failures without living at least 60 seconds will cause job removal

    i'm not sure what's going on and what "tuncfgd" is...i've checked inside my LaunchDaemons folder and don't see anything...any help is much appreciated.

    thanks...

    Have you checked in both /System/Library/LaunchDaemons and /Library/LaunchDaemons ? Any hamachi related plists?

    Edit: It appears from here that tuncfgd.plist is in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons.

    yeah, i checked there and there was nothing...

    i re-installed hamachi then uninstalled all the components through hamachi...then trashed/deleted the app. rebooted and Console doesn't give those errors anymore. thanks for letting me know it was a Hamachi issue! much obliged :D

    Late comment - fix for log problem

    I know this is a couple of months after the problem, but I find it interesting in that the HamachiX author tries to use launchd to spawn a program that ignores the cardinal rules of launchd in that it does it's own fork() call....

    Thankfully, you can fix this without even having to recompile tuncfg, you just have to set it up to be run in debug mode by passing a -d on invocation, and the only side effect of debug mode is that it doesn't do the fork().

    Change the /Library/LaunchDaemons/tuncfgd.plist to:

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    	<key>Label</key>
    	<string>tuncfgd</string>
    	<key>OnDemand</key>
    	<false/>
    	<key>ProgramArguments</key>
    	<array>
    		<string>/usr/sbin/tuncfg</string>
    		<string>-d</string>
    	</array>
    	<key>RunAtLoad</key>
    	<true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    Now it won't keep restarting and putting all those log entries out there.
