Help With Macbook Disk Drive and Loading Disks?

When I put a disk into my mac (any type of disk), it doesn't go in properly, it kind of gets stuck, and then if I push it, it goes in, but doesn't make a whirring noise, or eject it. It doesn't register it on the screen. If I try to eject it, nothing happens, and the other day I had to pull the disk out with a pair of tweezers. I have tried many different types of disks, but nothing will work! Can I get any help? Preferably safe solutions, because my mum won't be very happy if I trash an expensive laptop! Does the disk drive need to be replaced?

Yeah sounds like a broken optical drive.

If the Mac is still under Apple Care I would take it in to Apple.

If it isn't, then consider whether you want to spend money on getting it fixed,
or alternatively if you can't do without an optical drive you could buy a cheap usb external optical drive (no need to buy one from Apple).
