I know this is probably worn out by now, but for the last month my Macbook pro has been crashing several times a week and lately several times in a day for no apparent reason. Some times it just simply freezes, sometimes it has what I believe is a karnel crash and others it simply restarts itself. I have heard it is due to the seagate hard drives or something, I really know very little about the workings of a computer but I believe my Hard drive model # is ST98823AS is this bad, any help fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking at the logs in your Console. It's in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder. See if you can find anything suspicious around the times it has crashed.

that happened to my macbook random freezing and crashing, turned out it was a problem with my logic board it may not be the case with you though it could be the hdd
