I have a paid version of MacX DVD Ripper Pro. I am trying to copy a movie onto my desktop. The program recognizes the dvd and its correct length of 1hr 10min. However when I run the program to burn the disc, it only copies the first 29s. I've tried copying the entire dvd over as a 'backup' so I can then re-burn that version in a different format, but it again only backs up the first 29s. I’ve also tried editing the video time before copying. For instance, I edit by telling the program to start copying at 0:01s and stopping 1s before the actual video ends. Again, it only copies the first 29s.

My product license is registered. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

Personally, I just used MakeMKV and DVDFab free trials to attempt backups.

I didnt realize these two forums are related(?)

Also, I was hoping to avoid free trials with other software seeing as how I just paid $29 for a lifetime license on macx dvd ripper pro. I bought it for this reason, specifically for this dvd and I’m hitting hp,y head against the wall trying to get it to work.

I'll second that rec for MakeMKV. It's free for DVD ripping. Free "while in beta" for everything else. And it's been in beta for years. It's easily the best disc ripping software out there. That MacX software always struck me as being the kind of software that overhypes and underdelivers.

As a side note... since you have a paid license for MacX, have you tried contacting the developer? Make them earn their money!
