Hi,

I have an audio cd of a friend of mine, and he wants me to make him a website which is no problem. I want to put up 30 seconds clips of each song in MP3 format and WMA if possible. What program do I need to get to do this? Sound studio and garage band both are not good for this. Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, you could use iTunes to rip the CD to mp3. Just pick Preferences from the iTunes menu, then select Importing and pick "MP3 Encoder" from the "Import Using" menu. As for WMA, who honestly cares? Anyone, PC or Mac can use an mp3 file. There is no real advantage to using the WMA format.

[EDIT: Oh sorry, left out how to make 30 sec clips: select the track you want to make 30 seconds long, and pick Get Info from the Edit menu. Select the Options tab, and set the end time to 0:30.00 and check the end time box, then click OK. Pick "Convert Selection to MP3" from the Advanced menu. There you have it.]
