I purchased a 15" MacBook Pro back in January and am experiencing some issues. I've tried doing SMC/PRAM reset along with disc cleanup and nothing seems to help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Computer:
    15" MacBook Pro
    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
    SSD: 162GB free of 249.8

    Problems Include:
1.) Computer goes to sleep and when I wake it up the screen will turn on but then go black but I can still see the cursor. If I wait 30ish seconds then it will start working
2.) When flipping through desktops it sometimes gets stuck between two for awhile, but then will go back to just one
3.) At times the computer starts running very slow and I see the beachball
4.) The computer shows my iPod is connected even though it is not. I've tried ejecting it and it won't eject
    5.) Intermittent internet connectivity issues

    Reinstall yosemite

An OSX reinstall usually fixes these issues.

Definitely reinistall OS X like tonight (particularly if you didn't purchase Apple Care). Use the machine for a couple of months. If the problem persists, contact Apple or go to the nearest store if you're fortunate enough to live close to one.

It sounds like it could be a drive or system problem. SCSC, the guys who make Scannerz have a write up on drive and other problems here:

    http://scsc-online.com/How-To.html

Go to the article titled something like Bad hard drive symptoms. They also have other info on other problems that can also cause delays.

Thanks for the replies! Now last night I tried shutting it down and just got the spinning wheel for 10 minutes. I held the power button and upon start up it came to the screen wanting me to select language then instal OS X. I restarted it again and it was fine but after some use the fan came on really loud. That's never happened before.

    It may be....

.....indexing spotlight in the background if you reinstalled OSX this can stress the CPU if you are using it at the same time take a look in activity monitor and it'll show you what is being used on teh CPU to cause the fans to spin up.

Here is how to completely wipe it

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201376

Back up everything for sure if going that route.

    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH13871?locale=en_US

The second link is to reinstall os x without a wipe.

I'm actually not sure. I would try the latter first, then the former.

I just did the second option so we'll see if that helps!
