I have a mba 2013 (i7 8gb ram 256gb ssd, it run smoothly if you wanted to know) an i also have a ps4.

I wanted to clean my desk from all the cables and size (moving to new apartement). What monitor (apple or not apple) would you recomend to me?

I have found threads from 2013/2014 saying that you cannot connect (ps4) to apple monitor (led cinema display or thunderblot display). In 2019 there is any way to coonect ps4 and macbook air to a apple monitor?

Thanks for dedicating your time.
Best regards.

It looks like if you get a monitor that only has thunderbolt inputs, using an adapter (from the PS4's HDMI) will not work.

Might as well grab a Acer/Asus/Samsung monitor that has a high refresh rate if your gaming on it.

What do you use your MBA for? What size monitor will fit on your desk? What is your budget?

For example, a TN type of LCD is faster for gaming on your PS4, but the colour consistency of IPS would be much more important if doing artwork on your MBA. Without more information it is difficult to recommend anything, although the answer probably isn’t an Apple monitor currently.

For university stuff (i'am studying theater, actor and writer) (write email, browse along website, pages, notes, numbers... read pdf, watch netflix/hbo and plays) I do some photography as a hobbie) (I already have acesories like keyboard and mouse).
The use i give to my ps4 is twice a week (summer 5-6 a week).
I have 60 inch desk, i would like to have like 20 inch to write in paper or this stuff).
My budget would be less than 600$

You can get good 27” 4K IPS monitors for less than $600, which would be fantastic for the photography, but your 2013 MBA does not support 4k, although the PS4 does. You might still get a good lower res image out of the MBA and future proof yourself. See if you can get access to a 4K monitor to see what your MBA looks like on it. The Asus U2790PQU is just starting to appear in shops, has a good spec, and will be about $300.

If you don’t have space for more than 20” At 20-24” a 1080p should do. At 27” Quad HD displays are good. Look for an IPS screen for colour accuracy for the photography and watching plays. Look at the response time in the specs for better play on the PS4, but almost any monitor is going to be better in that regard than almost any TV, which is how most people connect their games console.

In my old house i had 19" for ps4. What do you guys think about getting and apple tv 3gen o newer to use airplay? I still have the samsung 19".
