help with my setup

im trying to hook my imac up but having audio problems
hooking imac to harmon kardon reciever via hdmi and from there to a projector that has no speakers
the computer display displays fine on my projector screen but the audio still comes out of the imac
if i shut the projector off then the audio comes out of my home theater speakers which i want
what am i doing wrong here

Route the video direct to the projector, skip the A/V amp. Then end audio only to the A/V amp.

you can do it that way as he stated ^^^^ but try going into your settings from the dock> then go to accessibility>Audio>Open sound preferences>Output tab> and make sure your A/V receiver is checked off as your main output. I believe that would work I guess.
