For way too long I had Verizon DSL as my internet provider, it was that or Xfinity. There is no competition in my area. I finally switched to Xfinity and got a 250Mbps plan. I bought my own cable modem and everything is working OK.

Doing a few speed tests I realized the small network I have throughout my house doesn't seem to be working like it should.

I have a Netgear CM1000 Cable modem, The cable modem is giving me 250Mbps.

From there I have an Airport Extreme (newest version) to cover the basement and 1st Floor.

I ran an ethernet to the 2nd floor and have a time capsule (newest version) extend the wifi coverage via ethernet.

Off that Time Capsule I have two switchs plugged into the 2nd Floor Time Capsule. One to a media center and one to a home office. The home office runs a mac mini, Qnap NAS, and a mac mini as a server.

These are the switches that run out of the Time Capsule....

The weird thing is I am getting 250Mbps over wireless with my iPad Air 2, but all my ethernet connected devices are topping off at ~90Mbps.

The 2nd Time Capsule is giving out 250Mbps, so the 250Mbps is getting to the 2nd Floor, but anything with ethernet is stuck.

Do the ethernet ports on the base stations have limitations?

I am guess I did something wrong

Thanks, a little embarrassed. My ethernet was always so much faster, it never occurred to me how behind the times those switches were. Guess they also need to be undated.

Thanks!
