Hello,
Needs help choosing a chair for the computer and my .
There are quite a few chair reviews I've looked at on the internet but I'm not sure about any of them. Many of the Chinese chairs have some shortcomings that bother me too much or are not available in Europe.
From my requirements I could mention:
- full mesh (seat and back)
- adjustment as much as possible (e.g., separately adjustable lumbar)
- elements do not easily change their position (e.g., moving the armrest by accident)
- headrest
- available in Europe
- price around $400-450

I should warn you in advance that a used Herman Miller Aeron chair is significantly out of my budget.

My attention has been attracted to the flexispot cC0 chair, although I would prefer the C7 Pro Max version which unfortunately is not available in Europe :( Maybe this will help a little with the direction in which I am looking for a chair

Do you have any suggestions worthy of consideration?

Make sure that if you want a leather chair, it’s real leather and not faux leather. The last expensive office chair I bought I thought was leather, but it was not, and the last chair I looked at in a shipping box, looked like leather, but the box did not say anything about leather on the outside. Faux leather does not hold up. Eventually it will flake off, and leave a cloth material under it.

Perhaps the German brands have something interesting? Interstuhl is one I'm aware of and it's a common sight in offices. They do all kinds of office chairs, including mesh ones, not sure about headrests.

A (used?) Haworth might fit the budget too.

Drop the headrest as a criteria and there should be a lot of options actually. If the chair has a high backrest then you probably won't be needing one anyway.
Also reconsider your requirement to have a mesh seat - if it's done like on the Aeron it can be quite limiting since there's a hard frame around it. Your butt and tighs either fit the seatpan well - or you end up in a world of pain. ;)
Aeron has several fixed sizes but you still get quite a few complaints.

This seems to have been achieved better by the Okamura Contessa but at a price. More expensive than Herman Miller in Europe I would think. And probably next to impossible on the second hand market.

I’ve been using Herman-Miller office chairs for 50 years—hard to go wrong with ’em. 🤷‍♂️

50 years! By any chance are you posting this while reclining all the way back in an Eames? :) Those do look sweet if a little too small/low for those among us over 6 feet tall I suppose. Not exactly what corporate would want you to do your mandatory hardcore hours in.

Herman-Miller definitely. I got mine 2nd hand some 15 years ago.Still the best chair I've ever used.

No, the Eames is way out of my budget—and they have since kneecapped the quality. However, I can speak to the Aeron chair, the more generic office staple you often see around. ✌️
