so i have a final paper i need to write for my human geographies course (basically how people interact with the environment, public places, the home, etc)

i chose the topic of how the digital age has affected these interactions and behaviors. think i could get info for 5-7 pages just on the ipod?

so anyone have any ideas?

Say how Apple started the entire MP3 industry people to take off, the icon it made (teenagers), etc. :)

but it needs to focus more on its impact on society, and how people interact different because of it

That sure is a tough paper.

Maybe how lt is like if you don't have an iPod or your not cool?

I mean, of course I don't think that's the truth, but that's just what some kids say. :)rolleyes: )

You could consider the brief media hype about podjacking (or whatever they called it) where people would plug in to others' iPods to listen to their music.
Also, the changes to society that could result from everyone being tuned out to the sounds around them because they're wearing headphones. The ability to upload one's own podcasts to the iTunes Music store could be another topic - Average Joe and the instant worldwide audience. Also, the ability for independent artists to sell their music via iTMS could be changing the hierarchy of the music industry.

Just some thoughts - good luck!

Could you not go along the lines of: since people listen to their iPods on buses, trains etc people are less alert to the environment surrounding them because they are so engulfed in their music. Listening to your iPod in the outside world limits your senses from 5 to 4. You are as efficient to the outside world as a deaf person.
