I am trying to recover my restrictions passcode by following this tutorial...

    http://www.simonblog.com/2011/03/16/how-to-recover-forgotten-iphone-restrictions-passcode/

And when I got to open the file it says that the file cannot be open because the string is empty. I got it to open in TextEdit but it shows up in funky characters. I was wondering if anyone can decode it for me or help me open it in Xcode. When I try Xcode, nothing happens. Here is the funky text it gives me!

Did you open it in Property List Editor? You could also try Pref Setter. plist files are not text files.

Property list files are just XML files or text files with extra characters in them. Starting with 10.4 or 10.5, Apple changed them to be binary based files, not text based. You'll need to convert them first or use a program that can open binary property list files, like PlistEdit Pro.
