So I used to be on ATT and recently added a line to my family's plan on Verizon. Now I don't know what to do with my old line on ATT; either cancel it or leave it...are those the only choices I have and what would be the best and least expensive thing to do?

Really? I'm sure Verizon can tell you whether your number is "port-able" or not. If not, cancel the line I suppose.

It depends on how much the ETF(Early Termination Fee) minus how many months you had it is. 5, 10 dollars come off for every month you had the contract. Stops lowering when it hits 50 or 60 bucks I believe.

if you port the number it will automatically cancel the at&t account. I would suggest porting before activating the iphone because you will just have to wipe the phone and re-activate it with the ported number. Assuming your at&t is no longer under contract you should be good, if you are prepare for the ETF.
