Help with Recordable Media

Guys any chance you could recommend good media to work with my new IMAC, I got the one that just came out. I need cd's and dvd's. Only writing at 24x for cds seems slow. Will 52x work? Also how about dvd's? Whats a good brand? Is DL really necessary?

Nope, Apple's "Superdrive" ...ain't. See the spec sheet for details.

Is DL really necessary?

You'll need DL to duplicate some DVDs -- for example, to make backup
copies of your iMac install disks.
