So I returned my MacBook air 13" 2012 on July 17, 2012 and was told since I paid via debit card I will relieve a check in the mail for the refund. It has now been 13 calender days and online it says I should receive a refund within 14 calender days. I'm getting worried there has been a problem any suggestions or thoughts?

And for those who question why I returned because I am hoping for a 13" retina MacBook in October which is rumored.

Did you return it to the store or online? I'd call someone.

I haven't used a debit card in ages.

Sorry I should have stated this earlier but I bought this in store. And also I have called the store doesn't seem like they know. Some people their say 3 weeks. Some say 14 days. Some say 7-10 days. So i just took what apple.com said which says 14 calender days. I even called 1800myapple and they transfer me back to the store. Idk what to do

I bought my 13" air (refunded for my 11") online with my debit (is a visa card though) and returned it into the store with no problem. Credited my account back and the money was returned to me within 2 business days.

Not sure why they are sending you a check back, should have been able to refund it straight to your card

Yeah this is true. Was there something wrong with your card when they tried to charge it back?

Checks can take a very long time to receive, but I'd still go back to the store and reek(sp) havoc?

If they say 14 calendar days and it's day 13, you need to wait a day. Simple.

If it comes tomorrow then it's on schedule. Your post just seems slightly premature.

I know it's alot of money and you want it back ASAP, but they are still a normal timeframe according to what you posted.

Day 14 and still nothing I'll be going in tonight see what's going on and the 14 days is not something I'm making up this is a quote from their site:

"Cash payments will be refunded in the form of a check from Apple, which will be mailed to your billing address within 14 calendar days of receipt of the returned package."

That says cash payments. You paid with a debit card. Perhaps that's were the issue lies? at any rate I'd go in and speak with the manager or call and ask to speak to a supervisor.

I bet the website means when Apple receives the package, not the store you returned it at. They need to check it over before selling it as a refurb/open box item.

Wait a few more days or go to the store with all documentation and ask questions.

Debit = cash. I have never heard of "crediting back" to a debit card.

Debit cards can be refunded to. This happens all the time.

I returned a rMBP last 7/28 and will keep you posted if ever receive my check prior to yours.

hmmm

My purchases with my debit card are always done as credit card charges. I've always received a refund back on the card within 7 business days max. I hope you get this sorted.

Keep calling that store...maybe speak to a different manager?

Well when you use a debit card it's essentially paying cash because you enter a pin. But maybe your right I'll be going into with a copy of my receipt and apple return policy printed and ask for manager

And lol I check my balance all the time I know for 100% I'm missing over $1,000.

I'll keep you guys posted so if this ever happens to you guys, hoping it doesn't, we can resolve it

not when they are talking about refunding you via a check....by cash, they truly mean cash. A debit payment always goes back on the debit.....you had a really weird genius.

Any updates? Have you received your refund?
