I'm posting this here hoping that someone may have knowledge of how to remove an app when using El Capitan.

I downloaded the Ad Block Master app from the app store. It had received good ratings as an ad blocker. After getting part way through the setup procedure, I was uncomfortable with some of the permissions it wanted and decided to abandon it. So I closed the setup window.

Then I tried to move the app to trash to uninstall it. But I got a message saying that I could not send it to trash because it was "open". But I could not find any way to close it. It shows up in my app list under finder, but no place else. Double clicking on the app in the finder does nothing. I looked in the extensions listing in Safari, and it does not show up there either.

Any other ideas?

Never mind. Just remembered how to uninstall an app from the launchpad. This worked!

I use an app called Appcleaner and it removes the little files that an app will leave behind. its better than just using launchpad. Its a small app and cheap if not free
