Using Leopard 10.5.4, and I've noticed that searching in Spotlight does not bring up all results. For instance if I search 'widgets', I do not get a result for the Widgets folder located in ~/Library/.
I've searched the forums and others seem to have the same problem. While using Tiger I know spotlight was much better.

I know that there is a round about way for searching specific folders in Spotlight by refining the search, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the search, if I hone in on an item I won't need to search for it then!

Also with Quicksilver, typing in 'widgets' does not give the desired result, even though the Library folder is selected for search,I think?. (see pic)

Any suggestions anyone?

On a side note: How can I reorganize the catalog order in Quicksilver?

I don't believe Spotlight searches ~/Library by default.

Quicksilver definitely doesn't search ~/Library by default and you image only confirms that it's searching ~ one level down and finding the Library folder itself, but not it's contents. You can create a custom catalog source using the File and Folder scanner (see the + button at the bottom of the catalog screen) to do so, but be cautious about putting too many things into your catalog and slowing down QS.

An alternative is to use QS to navigate to items. Activate it (control-space), type ~ to get to your home folder, type / to move down a level, type Lib to select ~/Library/ and continue this way until you find the file you want.
