Help with sending an iMovie project

I have an iMovie project on a 13-inch non-retina 2012 MBP and need to have it on a 2015 13-inch rMBP. The MacBooks do not recognize each other on AirDrop. I need to send it now. Is there a way? Without using an external HDD?

Enable file sharing on both computers. If both are on the same network they should see each other and both'll have a public dropbox in which you can copy files.

I'm not on OS X right now so cannot provide more info or screenshots.
