Help with setup

Hi, I have a new 2020 MacBook air and cannot select any buttons. I am on the second page "select your country or region" I hit the return button while my mouse is on the continue button and nothing happens. I do not know if I am stuck in voiceover or not. I also tried to use the pad and it didn't work either. Please help.

Maybe a dumb question but are you applying force to the trackpad or just tapping it? I believe out of the box you need to apply force. Later you can enable 'tap to click' in settings.
