help with Shift key

When I use the shift key to get a question mark, it gives me a "C" with a little tail at the bottom. When I use shift and hit the period button, it gives me a question mark.

I changed nothing in the System Prefs for Keyboard or International, so what gives? How do I fix this?

Sounds like a circumflex.

Check your International prefpane, and the Inputs tab. Is U.S. (assuming you're in the US) the only one checked?

The US is the only one that is checked.

Log in as another user and check to see if it's screwy there too. Create another user if need be.
