In my short film, I need to show someone robbing a bank and because you can't film in a bank for security reasons, I was wondering if anyone had any alternatives/suggestions?

Hmmm that might be hard to do, maybe call all the banks and see if anyone will let you film?

Try to find somwhere else that looks like a bank with tellers and roped in lines (casino, horsetrack?).

Build a set?

Try some green screen (might look really bad)

Do any of your friends own a safe?

A buddy of mine used our University's cashier's office with shotgun's, blanks, and squibs.. You could try that route.

Just get a WS of a real bank and do the interiors somewhere else. NO bank will let you do anything unless you are bringing some serious $$$.

Do you go to film school or are you a teen in HS? That makes a big difference...

Good editing & for sure you could film the scene outside a bank type looking building(not to cause unwanted attention from the SWAT team) then ask the local library or fancy building owner type people can you film near the main entrance for a short while, usuall ok if they are arty places and arty places usually have nice entrances!. find a tall ceiling in the building and use a few tables ,props etc to form your 'bank' then do the robbery scene there, I can see it in my mind but find it hard to explain, d'you get what I mean?
