Hello! I’m buying my dad a new Apple Watch for Christmas. Years ago, I got him an AW1 and it’s definitely time he has a new one. He has the 42 now. I’m not sure which one I should get him. Is the 45 that much bigger than the 42? Or is the 41 a safer bet? I’ve been wanting to order so it gets here sometime close to Christmas but I don’t want to mess up and get the wrong size. I thought I would ask you all since you would better compare sizes than I can.

Robert & FB covered it well but what about his vision?

Asked b/c I could be his age & my 1st AW was a 44mm series 4 that was replaced w/ a 45mm S7 & larger = better in my world.

My dad is 78 and I didn't consider that he could probably see the larger one better.

It really depends on whether he's nearsighted or farsighted. I'm nearsighted so I have no problem reading the fine print on anything. My wife on the other hand is farsighted so she loves bigger print, displays, etc.

Agreed also nearsighted but using bifocals since 40ish & now mid 60’s so slightly bigger is my friend.
