I'm trying to create a smart playlist in iTunes called 'Misc' so that basically it creates a playlist for all the mp3's that AREN'T already in a playlist, so whenever I add new music to the main music library and its not specified to a playlist, it just goes into 'Misc'

However Im having trouble specifying the necessary criteria to do the job, and Im having trouble searching for the answer - so was hoping someone could help??

Playlist>is not>playlist name

Repeat for each playlist to exclude.

I thought of that one, but I was hoping there would be an easier way (I have a few playlists ha ha)

Finally found an answer here - http://lifehacker.com/355743/top-10-itunes-smart-playlists

basically instead of omitting each individual playlist, organise you playlists into playlist folders, then just omit those particular folders

definitely easier, plus it means your smart playlist will update properly (won't have to omit new playlists as long as you add them to a folder) and keeps your itunes organised :D
