    Hi there,

I took my MacBook Pro into Apple and a new hard drive was fitted. Prior to this, the Apple Store worker kindly advised me to back up all files onto an external hard drive so they would not be lost.

I collected my MacBook Pro today and am unsure as to how to transfer my files back to the (now empty) MacBook Pro!

When I hook the external hard drive up - it's a Porsche Design Slim Drive (P'9223) - the LaCie Desktop Manager appears instantly, but that's where I get stuck.

I really thought it would be a simple case of being quite self-explanatory, but it doesn't seem to be as far as my technophobe mind works!

If anyone could provide me with a solution it would be much appreciated. I would hazard a guess, but really don't want to lose my photos, music, Word docs etc.

    Many thanks,

Does the drive not appear on the desktop for you to open & copy files from?
