Hi guys. Dropped my ipad yesterday in a bucket accidentally. The bucket had Almost negligible water but the device got wet. Pulled it out instantly. The display was gone yesterday only the blue lcd was coming on and i couldn't switch it off. So wrapped it in a towel and kept it like that overnight.

Today i tried switching it on . It did work display was working. But there was a big white line/patch in the middle and some lines in the bottom corner. To add to that the device is rebooting again.

So what am i looking at here and what are my options ? First apple device so don't have any idea. Thanks for your suggestion .

I bought it 4 months ago. I dont think i have apple care.

How old is the device and do you have Apple Care?
Got it online from Amazon in India

You can try the bag of dry rice trick, but if it's water damage you're pretty much SOL.

What are my options currently ? I want to know all that before taking it to a service center.

I tried that trick though which i think resulted in the display coming back on. But it keeps on rebooting

Is it repairable ? Or is it gonna be replaced ? If yes how much is it gonna cost.

Well if you take it to an Apple service center they either (1) won't even tough it or (2) will give you an astronomical quote to repair it. Water damage isn't covered at all.

Then it may still have some moisture in the case. Put it back in the bag or dry rice for several days to a week.

Though innocent, your thread title sounds disgusting.

FYI, silica packets have proven to be more effective than rice, though less common.

Took it to the authorised service centre. 600$
