I want to install a copy of Windows XP x64 Pro on my Mac Pro 1,1 [flashed to 2,1]
but the guide that was written back in 2006 (HERE at Mac Rumors) showing how to make the special ISO of XP x64 is full of dead links and broken defunct screenshots. The links for the drivers are DEAD and what I pieced together from shreds I got while using the Wayback Machine,
is full of blank boxes where screenshots used to be.

I downloaded some chipset drivers and baked it into a custom ISO like bits of the instructions told me, but whether I tried that custom ISO or a vanilla copy of XP x64, the result is the same.

-There are three yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager for chipset components
-90% programs won't launch, and they are all from the 2006 era. all x64 and most x86 programs throw up a nag saying
"......exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine"
-Icons for most programs look like broken DOS prompt icons and of course refuse to start.

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE SHOW ME STEP BY STEP HOW TO MAKE THIS SUPER SPECIAL COPY OF XP X64 FOR MY MAC PRO 1,1
OR IF THEY HAVE SOME TIME MAKE ME AN ISO OF WINDOWS XP X64 WITH WHATEVER DRIVERS IT NEEDS PLEASE!!!!!

I've looked everywhere for similar guides. Nothing. I've burned several custom copies of XP x64 with drivers I hoped matched what the original article called for. Nothing. I'm pulling out my hair here.

Maybe… but unclear if these are 32 or 64 bit drivers. I thought Apple only ever officially supported 32 bit XP.
And you thought right, Apple didn't ever (but should have) support XP x64.
But in my opinion Windows XP x64 was the cream of the crop, the peak of Microsoft
while at the same time (at that time) OSX Snow Leopard was Apples cream of the crop.
Dual booting them on a Mac Pro 1,1/2,1 would have been very special.

I don't understand why Windows XP x64 basically goes sour on the first boot on the Mac Pro 1,1.
I didn't mention it but even .txt files were showing up packed full of weird characters.
Lets be real here, the Mac Pro 1,1 was just an Enterprise server, with a server class chipset, server power supply, server CPUs, and Server RAM in a beautiful Apple designed case. Other than some custom locked down Apple EFI, its not THAT
custom under the hood that Windows XP x64 shouldn't recognize ALL the stuff in device manager other than a video card.

This is all I get before I shut it down and put back my hard drive sled with my daily OS on it and get back to my day.

For "fun" I just installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x86 with SP1
and my god I forgot just how off the chain that OS was in terms of SPEED, and it saw ALL 32 GB of my RAM.
But the same yellow exclamation marks show up for the 5000 series chipset and weird crap happens like trying to open folders and it says the directory is corrupt and unreadable (when it most certainly is NOT).
The Mac pro 1,1/2,1 doesn't like Server 2003 x86 either. Windows XP x64 is just an in-house conversion of Server 2003 x64 to workstation using the same kernal, so the Mac Pro 1,1/2,1 just doesn't like any fork of Server 2003, x86 or x64.

BUT other guys DID get it to run XP x64! But these precious instructions have been lost to internet decay.
