Did the update and husband and I share itunes account and i guess that put us under the same icloud account now we are getting eachothers text messages on both his phone and mine......why is this?

You both need to create different iCloud accounts.

You can continue using the current iTunes account for purchases you just won't get all of the iCloud features on that account.
