It seems like Apple releases iOS & iPad OS updates after WWDC, but before the release of the next major release, every year. I don't see why this is a big deal. There's a couple of months of time between the two. Apple isn't going to just completely stop work on iOS 18 for months just because they showed off iOS 19.
I didn't use to be that way is all I am saying. They advertise and promise things that aren't on device as of late and I think that is odd is all. Just my opinion.

No bugs here.I rarely experience them.
Then you not really using the device to any extent.

Mail itself has about several bugs I experience every day including not loading messages in the UI and not executing rules for some messages. But then again I actually use mail as more than a toy and expect it to process 100s of messages per day. Same with other Apple software.

It is the same as buying a cheap Chinese lawnmower and having it crap out every year or two instead of buying a good American lawnmower that lasts for 15 to 20 years minimum. Apple software is cheap, foreign based, get it done for the cheapest cost possible. Just like that cheap Chinese lawnmower. Feel free to substitute any other cheap Chinese product if you don't understand lawnmowers.

Now you'll probably complain that this is software, not hardware, but Apple, for example markets Mail as Mail, the end-all, be-all. They don't say it is only good for 20 messages per day, even though they should. Because if they did, most users would go "Wow, that is not very good." Which is the absolute truth. Same with Messages, fail to delete them every day and watch how Messages and SpotLight search fall apart. Ohh, don't even bring up the complete failure that is Siri.

Don't get me started on how bad iCloud is at losing data, or how it is often impossible to restore good Time Machine Backups. BTW, if you are using Time Machine you should try restoring backups some time and check any critical files you expect to recover. There are certain types of files that will not restore accurately, period. Why because Apple makes sure your Pages document will restore, but not much else. OK, you're right probably also Numbers documents. But if you use your Apple device as more than a fashion statement, then you will run into problems with both iCloud and Time Machine.

And of course, if you are not real proficient in English then please note that these statements may be exaggerated in order to make a point. I don't really know if the mail message limit is 20 or 30 messages per day.

If you search the internet a bit you will find confirmation of everything I have mentioned here.

Personally, I won't personally buy any smartphone gear that is proprietary to Homekit, as I live in a mixed Apple/Android household.
I agree but am hoping they will be supporting Matter (with Thread) for any IoT integrations. Not sure about the Android part, but Matter would work for most things, except older devices which at least mine are luckily all about starting to die, so timing for replacements would be good for once.

But let's definitely hope that they don't go with a HomeKit-only route. That just won't work for just about anyone.

If Apple is really going with M3 Ultra in the Mac Pro, then why wait to release it? Just lump it in when you did the Mac Studio, yeah?

(I have no skin in this one—I’ll never have a Mac Pro. 🙂 )

I'm so glad I'm not the only one to see this and think "since when do Cats like/need watering‽"

Not to defend “eat up Martha” but if I don’t give my cats water every day, they get pretty salty.

On the new Apple stuff side. Siri will still stink. Apple does a lot of things OK. Most are adequate or good enough that they keep people like me in the ecosystem.

But the days of Apple doing everything better than everyone else seem to have passed. The competition is catching up, or has caught up and passed them by and if they don’t watch, someone else will eat their lunch.

I still love Apple products. I’m pretty heavy on the Apple “ecosystem” (iCloud, Apple Music, passwords, etc) and it’s more inertia that keeps me here at the present. But I’m not gonna lie and say I haven’t eyeballed offerings from Samsung and Windows devices and after looking at the price said “hmmm, that’s an option”.

Apple “intelligence” really isn’t all that, Siri is its own joke at this point, and every software release is expected to have its fair share of bugs.

To be blunt, Apple better get their head and their aers wired together or they’re gonna find themselves in a spot they don’t like. And the window for making traction in that respect is closing quickly.

Look at Stellantis and see how being tone deaf to your intended audience can quickly destroy a brand. You built a whole brand persona around having a Hemi V8 engine and then you release “new” pickup truck with. NO V8 ENGINE. Of course no one is buying them even with 6K cash back and 10k off MSRP.

A TED talk on brand suicide…

The command center makes very little sense to me. I always have my iphone in my pocket. It has a screen and is my command center. What's the point of having another screen stuck in some corner of my house that I'd have to go to when I can just pull out my iPhone?

I never said anything about it flopping, and I think it'll likely sell about as well as the Apple TV. I just don't think it will be very useful.

Personally, I won't personally buy any smartphone gear that is proprietary to Homekit, as I live in a mixed Apple/Android household.
I don’t quite follow. What’s the issue? I actually am wanting to move TOWARD HomeKit (hence planning on finally getting HomeBridge up and running). What’s the problem with using it as your standard, officially proprietary as it may be, and plugging into it with the rest of what you have using slightly-more-technical approaches for integration?

I'm trying to get away from proprietary systems, plus my wife is a die-hard Pixel owner so any smart home stuff needs to work with Android.

All that said, I just don't have much interest in smart home tech.

A new homeOS may be announced. But the actual product may be available to purchase much later. Also wonder whether a device with M5 will be announced at WWDC.

Got it. Out of curiosity, since you’re avoiding proprietary stuff, what are you using at home now on the Android side?

Why would you use that mockup of "command centre" when Apple hasn't been using that design language for years now

The visionOS-style UI on iOS devices would look great. Imagine if we have a transparent iPhone, this UI would fit the best. It can also be on Macs, which I feel like it's gonna be the new "Windows Aero."

I wonder if the new Apple TV is being delayed so it can debut with the new Command Center.

With added support for Ring cameras. Think of the possibilities Apple & Amazon get together for this one thing but we know that won't happen because everyone wants to be king/queen of the hill and then fall off. Greed is very sad most of the time. Sorry, don't know what came over me, lol.
