Uhh... so £55 cheaper for something that's half the size? Am I supposed to be impressed? Is that like $200 USD or something?

I am. I'm impressed they've got the guts to say that as though it's the killer selling point that may bring Apple to it's knees and beg for forgiveness.

They definitely mention that the player can also play following formats:

MP3-, WAV- and WMA-files

and they think without converting it into ATRAC3 as Sony did in older players.

Sony say that the player will only support ATRAC3plus at 48/64/256 and ATRAC3 at 66/105/132. Support for MP3 and WMA will still be by way of conversion through SonicStage 2.1. No i.LINK, it uses USB 2.0 for transfers. Yes, it has a disk mode like the iPod.

Unfrtunately, unlike the ipod, it, or maybe its software, doesn't work on macs....
