Dammit Apple, "Elderberry" is the brownest "purple" ever. You keep missing the mark! What will it take to get us an unabashedly vibrant saturated purple? You know, equal parts of red and blue - and no brown (and also not the "one drop of purple dye in a vat of silver" that you call an "elegant" purple - that's just silver that's been slightly stained by purple).

Is the ink leather case dark blue or dark purple? I can’t tell.
I think it's supposed to be Midnight purple, but it's really hard to tell.

I wish they had just brought back the purple options from the iPhone 12 line.

Edit: I think Ink and Elderberry are the case colors they introduced when they dropped the purple iPhone 12 and they just renamed them.

Edit 2: Nevermind they are not the same. They are darker versions of those colors.

If you want my personal experience based opinion (and who wouldn't?) the leather options are a waste of money, they are cheap junk that will offer no protection, scuff very easily and break for no reason. I hope this has changed with the new ones but I would bet that the only thing that has changed is the colors.

I think we can all agree these color options look like they were designed by a colorblind person and I am not joking, as a person who has worked daily with a colorblind person for many years.

The Wallet is pretty good though, does what it says on the tin. Only holds two cards comfortably.

I loved the wisteria iPhone 13 leather case, but that thing did not 'patina' or whatever.. it looked awful as got older and the purplish color looked like it just peeled away and left black exposed. I've since bought a Bullstrap leather case and it's fantastic. Worth a look if you are interested in an alternative.
Had the same experience with what I thought was going to be the old saddle color. Zero patina, and the edges wore away to show just black.

I will most likely buy a Bullstrap case as well.

Isn’t part of advantage of a case to level out the bottom? The Phone has a hideous bump on it, but theses cases just match it with a lip. Are there third party cases that address this issue?

So the wallet got updated? What’s the update? How can I tell that it’s the new version when I buy on Amazon or instore? Thanks.

These aren’t ALL the cases, these are all the APPLE cases. Heck, in the pre-order section, Apple is pushing Otterbox cases not listed here. I was excited to see what better third party options there were, so this very misleading article didn’t help at all.

Smartish has great cases available for the iPhone 14/Pro Max that are also customizable. I've purchased their 'Black Tie' Gripzilla cases for both the iPhone 11 & 13...and I love them.

Just received my Ink, unfortunately it’s very much a navy blue so I will be returning it.

So they really can’t drop a simple black case? Not midnight but just…black.

Black enough for you?
