My 2015 Apple TV HD is still getting updates, yet my 2017 iPhone 8 Plus 256 is stuck on iOS 16

I like this monitor. I wonder what brand/model it is.

Nobody ever seems to bring this up but it can’t just be me that finds this annoying: in the Storage settings it tells you how big each app is but it never tells you how much storage you have left like it does on iOS.

Can we get this fixed please, Apple!

There are apps for that. The one on have think is called tv info. It also shows memory usage and other things

Was excited to see the Snoopy screensaver in 18.2, just to find out that the initial 4K Apple TV isn't supported. Can't understand why the screensaver won't support that hardware?

I'm pretty sure I have the original 4K, and I do have the Snoopy screensavers. I have the last one that came with the Lightning remote.

I control my iRobot Roomba with my HomePod via Siri Shortcuts (and automations). What would HomeKit provide that I can't do already?
Can you have it so the Roomba will start after everyone leaves home?...like you can set with Home/Homekit Automations?

I feel the additional devices/categories added are just great for future stuff. At the moment most things that are recently added are simple on/off, and maybe one more control. Like my String lights are on/off, and a simple color (not the full spectrum of color variations within the Native App)...TVs are similar with an On/Off and changing Input.

It seems like the Drivers License for iOS...they are only used with select Airports and even then most seem to not use those devices regularly. BUT...simple baby steps are needed

While I love the Apple TV, there are parts that are a little frustrating for me:
  • Dolby Vision screen blinking between content
  • Frequently hitting the BACK button vs the pause button, only to bounce completely out of something
  • Better/native integration with LIVE TV providers would be great
  • Work with Xbox and PlayStation on getting cloud gaming into the platform
Overall I really enjoy it, but it feels like it could be so much more. A little bummed on the screensavers, but I really enjoy the high framerate nature/city videos. They look much better on the TV than on Apple devices for some reason.
I had the same Dolby vision black flickers issue until I bought better HDMI cables (8k high speed ones) and it completely stopped. Hope that helps you

They were talking about the screen blinking between content changes. This is a symptom of setting the Apple TV to match dynamic range (or also when matching frame rate). When you are using the tvOS interface, which is in DV, and you play a video that is in HDR10 or SDR, the screen will go blank while it changes display modes.

The solution to this problem will need to come from both the display manufacturers and updates to Apple TV devices and tvOS.

“When you purchase access to this item, you can permanently download it to your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC. Once downloaded, you can access this without an internet connection, and Apple can't remove it from your device.”

I know the downloads are not offered in 4K/HDR, but the HD copies you get when you download might be DRM-free now. It’s interesting if true.

Oh I see thanks for the clarification. I haven’t experienced that since I have those options turned off. I’ll turn them on to see how annoying it is

Huh. I'm on the road at the moment, but when I get home tomorrow morning I'll check again. I'd love to be able to show the screensaver to my daughter - I hear it's great. :)

This will be added to TVos 19. It will be only available on the next Apple TV unit that will ship in october. The new unit will have the new Tv1 chip required for this feature.

Yeah, I plopped this rumor out of my bottom, but the scary thing is we all well know that Apple would do that move shamelessly.

I read that section as pertaining to downloaded apps. Would be nice if Apple moved away from DRM media like they did for music many years ago.
