@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 it showed up in my Emergency SOS settings in past hour or so. There is the test mode there showing it now is active. Normally won’t show anything else in phone or such unless you have no cell signal. But you can test the demo mode without risk and such. Will later when outside for the experience of course ;-). Have to try everything LOLSo who's willing to try out the SOS feature? Do we have any risk-takers here?![]()
I wish they would set it up so that you’d only have to pay if you make use of the service. It does seem like a little bit of a money grab otherwise. But they’ve got 2 years to come up with a better plan, so I’m not overly concerned about it at this point. For free I'll take it but a subscription is out of the question. I got better chance of being hit by lightning than being in a life threatening emergency situation without service.
Ok, well I will tell Tim to cancel this feature. For free I'll take it but a subscription is out of the question. I got better chance of being hit by lightning than being in a life threatening emergency situation without service.
Very nice! Gotta test it out tho. I might plan a hiking trip to see how efficient and effective it is. But it’s so cold outside. I wish this feature was released in the summer.@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 it showed up in my Emergency SOS settings in past hour or so. There is the test mode there showing it now is active. They gave the YouTubers early access to this to make promo videos? Lol

I love how that works, those people might as well just get a direct salary from Apple.
It depends where you live I guess. In Australia where I am from going out to the middle of nowhere is pretty common. There are still areas where there is no service at all. None. Normally you'd rent a sat phone or PLB for emergencies. If this can be built right into your smart phone and smart phones of the future it is a absolute game changer. For free I'll take it but a subscription is out of the question. From the purchase date.Does “free for the first two years” means starting from today, or starting from when you purchase an iPhone 14?
