Wow, an office building. I'm supposed to care about an office building. If Cook was an astute CEO, he'd have built the thing somewhere besides California, where cost of doing business was cheaper and employees could enjoy a more affordable cost of living.

I'm not sure that you're "supposed" to care. The article isn't for you personally. It doesn't have your name in the title. You can care, or not care. No one cares :)

No... For many decades, the San Francisco Bay Area is where the engineering talent pool and universities (Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Santa Clara) are. That's why many of of the top tech companies are headquartered here. And, why many tech startups, like Apple in the past, chose to start their companies in the area.

Interesting. That building is now empty, because the company (Longaberger) is in serious trouble. I have always thought it a bad omen when a company goes in for extravagant, expensive architecture.

That aerial shot is a piece of artwork. I have never seen anything like this before that is so complex and yet, so simple looking. (Even it's far from being simple with that type of engineering.)

They are literally building a small city up all at once. It truly is remarkable watching it all come together.

i drove by last week and it's really an amazing site to behold. there were lots of other people all around taking photos too.

It's their world headquarters in CA where 90% of their talent also resides. They have buildings all over the U.S. and the world. You sound like you're jockeying for a position in Trump's administration.

Yeah, see you in a few years when everyone elses products start looking a lot like Apple's. And price of the MBP was the same as the last time it was redesigned.

Uh, ok. See you then. Didn't mean anything personal by that.

Can someone explain why they made a tunnel just to drive a short distance?
The tunnel is obviously for more than just that. There are probably a network of tunnels for various security protocols but they wouldn't be very secure if we knew all about them from a drone video on a rumor site.

It's a gorgeous building with a wonderful engineering design... but what's with the obsession with the campus?

what an amazing building. I hate how they said it was Tim's auditorium.

This is Job's legacy, Jobs company, and Job's vision. Tim is just the fool who got luck and was there when Apple went into China for it's asiatic growth.

Apple will need to us to buy a lot of iPhones, Macs and iPads to pay for it.
its already been paid for.

True....and they should have dumped the direct home sales about 20 years ago and went straight to store for selling....it would have saved the company. That building is just a gorgeous on the inside as the outside. Sad that they no longer occupy it.
