Ugh. I can't today man. Not up for it. You win. The $300 Apple book is awesome. It's a steal of a deal. My battery will be fine. I'll deal with it.
Never said the book is awesome. I sure won't be buying it. Yes, your battery died, but by tonight you can have a refurbished phone working in your hand.... can sit and whine about it or go fix it.

You're absolutely right. No more whining. I'm going to get a refurbished iPhone right now.

Ha. It's a book! Please tell me Apple has something more interesting going on. Sorry not trying to be a hater, or "troll" as the kids would say. I'm a bit crabby today due to my 6S battery randomly dying.

Yeah. They have something exciting going on. They're removing useful headphone jacks from their phones. They're removing useful HDMI, USB type A ports, SD Cards slots, and MagSafe ports from their laptop line and replacing them with crappy USB C ports. They're also discontinuing the useful Airport line.

This is not the apple I know and love. I think I'm done buying their overpriced garbage.

Then go purchase the other garbage :D

Ah, that PowerMac G5 is just taunting us with an age when they actually made useful, repairable and upgradeable desktop computers.

The PowerMac G4 case opened up to make it even easier to get to everything. Nobody made a case that good. I hated to see that go but the PowerMac G5 case is a huge improvement over current Apple products.

Honestly, watching these videos and seeing all of these cool products is really nice. But, unfortunately, this book really seems more like a funeral program to me than anything. You see computers that were relatively easily upgradable; expandable. You see ports galore, color options left and right. You see a company that was exciting, fresh, new, going places.

Compared to today's stagnant iPhone designs (for 3+ iterations), the underpowered USB-C only MacBook "pro," the vanquished Mac Pro and Mac Mini, and the canceled Display and AirPort products, it's hard to see this book as something encouraging for the future. It's the past, and unfortunately I fear the past is not prologue for Apple. What we are seeing in today's Apple is merely an afterword, and this book is the appendix of all that Apple was.

Wow! A $300 book full of pictures of wonderfully designed products they no longer make, put out specifically to rub everyones faces in how great they used to be, while simultaneously showing how bad they have become.

I can see that being a best-seller.

Oh...does that mean it ceases to be frustrating for people? God you Apple loyalists can be annoying

I feel sorry for Apple haters, because after years of hard works, here comes Samsung and blows everything. Literally.

104%

ASP of iPad > ASP of PCs

All Surface line sells less than the iPad Pro, despite Microsoft bribing Verge for years now,

Pixel is a flop, and had lots of backslash because Google dared to price it at the same level of the iPhone, guess that your argument that "the iPhone is overpriced" came back to haunt Google loyalists.

Nobody is buying into YouTube Red.

Android TV is over, without any OEM making devices

Nobody cares about the round faced Android Wear as no OEM is making devices

Nest turned out to be another failure while HomeKit gains traction day by day.

Nobody talks about VR anymore, as everyone had their own interests in mind, and total disrespect for the early adopters.

Google keeps lying to people, with features that will never be implemented (like Instant Apps), yet you fall every year for that.

Now enjoy even more ads on YouTube, and no ad blocking on Chrome.

What is this??

What makes you say I'm an Apple hater? Who said anything about Google or Samsung?
In my house we have two iPhones, an iMac, MacBook Air, iPad, Apple TV, and an Airport. Some would probably call me a fanboy before a hater. Yet I'm still able to say the book is super overpriced and I'm annoyed because my iPhone battery is dying. Take a deep breath. It's ok to like Apple and think they may have made a mistake or two. The world will keep on spinning, I promise.

I can't help but think Jony Ive knows it's now or never to release such a book. He prob knows the future isn't as bright, and releasing this book then won't get much recognition.

From when? Why has it straight edges, no ports and magsafe on the left, click button beneath trackpad and this hinge?
OG air. Its ports were hidden in a latch thing. It was until the unibody MacBooks did they get rid of the underbutton. Also it isn't straight.

wow, indeed. I remember following the event but forget anything about the design. Seems much slicker from this angle where the lower bulge is hidden.

Nearly a decade ago.
