Not really, no, it’s not. Total redesign was iOS 7, this isn’t it. My expectations were set high by overbloating of what Apple will actually deliver.

Watch this again maybe you forgot what they promised you, 7:14:

So I just rewatched the LG presentation. *No where* does it say apps will be totally redesigned. Instead it speaks to the appearance of UI elements on existing applications. At best you misunderstood and at worse you are gaslighting everyone with expectations that were never set by apple.

That's why I'm talking about it. I have to use Windows 11 for work, and it's absolutely bonkers how some icons and windows are still in the Windows 95 or XP style. Crazy.

I just think they should deliver it when it's ready, not just when it's handy in order to boost reputation for investors.

Watch this. Like, I can totally see this guy being so disappointed. Literally the biggest fanboy turned into...this. If you've been with Apple long enough, you can sense it too...

Will watch the video, thanks.

Windows 11 - not just the icons. Turn on dark mode and soon see that vast amounts of the OS doesn't support dark mode, because it's using the Windows 8, 7, XP and even in some corners, the Windows 95 UI.

*long, deep sigh*

Listen here pal. If you’re going to tease me with iOS 7 release throwback and start talking about another major redesign that only happens once a decade, you better make sure to either update all stock apps, not only a select few. If this wasn’t supposed to include redesign of stock apps, then the Phone, Mail, Maps, Camera and Photos wouldn’t be redesigned, instead we have some apps that they did redesign to match LG, some that don’t, and it’s an incostistent mess. I don’t think I misunderstood, I think I understood quite well, and I think Apple overbloated the significance if this release and delivered an underwhelmig inconsistent mess.

That’s not good, I still buy licences for music and movies from iTunes.

Home, Weather, Reminders, Stocks, AppStore, Notes and even Music…all these Apps are unchanged. They now have a floating glass menu which is universal to the system now instead of the flat menu that’s in the iTS app, but that’s not a major redesign is it? It’s really a facelift. Apple again overpromised and underdelivered. I’m sorry that some in the heavily loyal fanbase don’t like what I’m saying but let’s call out bs when enough is enough.
I just want my passwords app to not be stuck in dark mode...

Can we choose how adaptive power works? Like not let it lower brightness, but turn on low power mode at 35%.
Hey there

I would use the 'Shortcuts' app for this for sure. I have a shortcut 'Automation' set so Low Power Mode is activated when my battery goes below 20%, then another to turn Low Power Mode off when I connect a charger. :)

Thanks

I’m writing this on the latest beta (7) of iPad OS. While I love the new pointer and windowing system, everything else about the UI is just jarring. I thought I would get used to it but after weeks and weeks of beta use I hate it just as much as before. I should really dig into why I feel this way but one tiny detail that keeps nagging at me is how awful app icons look with pretend reflective borders; another is the over-rounded corners of popups and menus. The whole glass metaphor makes no sense in any device except for the Vision (since it delivers augmented reality). I’m a probably in a small minority but this this whole OS upgrade is jarring.

I like the liquid glass interface. Yes, sometimes I cant see the time on my Lock Screen in certain focuses. But I like the features. The phone and alarm controls are much easier to see. The call screening is AMAZNG. I've had over 500 calls silenced since I upgraded to the 26 developer beta. iOS 18 worked great and I see most of these tweaks are upgrades to make things work better and smoother. I got no problem, haters. It wasnt broke, so why try to fix it. Just improve on it, which they have done.

I really really want motion recognition back on standby mode. I loved that if I waved my hand in the middle of the night, the time would display. Why would they remove that? Give us the option!!!!!!

It appears the problem for some here is not what Apple did but, the false, unfounded expectations some of you came up with and then got mad or disappointed when Apple didn’t match what you created in your head.
perfectly said. I guess those same people aren't married. When married, you learn that in life, you never should expect something to be the way YOU want it.

One "feature" that I wish they'd add is to allow the user to prevent the operating system from auto dimming the screen... which it does when the OS deems the phone to be too hot. It makes the phone pretty much unusable when your outside in bright sunlight - especially in Florida. I would prefer to have a function to keep the screen at full brightness and take my own chances.
I do find that my phone is hotter more frequently and thus the screen dims, particularly when outside. I sometimes have to sit in the car with the AC on full and my phone stuck in the air vents to get the functionality back.

Maybe an all aluminum design will help

Note: I am rocking the 14 Pro Max. They may be trying to get me to upgrade
