Announced at WWDC26, iOS 27 will support switching between two iPhone devices with the same phone number.

The feature will be called iPhone Handoff. Here's a demo of the setup. The iPhone Handoff, Confirm iPhone Handoff, Transferring eSIM, and iPhone Handoff is Ready views will appear in the bottom-half pop-up style like normal eSIM transfer.

The relevant support article will be https://support.apple.com/en-us/127274 when Apple releases it. For more publicly available details from Apple, see iPhone quick switch on Apple Developer.

Carrier bundles for T-Mobile US and Telekom.de in iOS 27 show the feature enabled, according to https://redesmoveisfixas.com/carrier. However, T-Mobile's enrollment server currently returns a 'feature disabled' response, so enrollment is not possible. There are some reports that enrollment was available last month.

So a second eSIM is created from the main iPhone and then transferred to the second.
Looks like it's gonna be carrier dependent in order to have the second eSIM on the same number.
